The Singapore Australian Football Club (SAFC) was formed on April
24, 1993 by ten homesick and football deprived Aussies who were
toughing it out in the tropical balm of Singapores business trenches.
Today the club which attracts between 25 and 40 to training weekly
at ANZA Turf city is striving for its 3rd Asian Championship in
a row. The
Wombats play matches at home against touring teams from around
the region, the Gaelic Lions and Australian Navy crews as well
as touring to various South East Asian cities around the region.
There is a significant social side to the club and new members
of both playing and social nature are welcomed. The Wombats train
at 4pm most Saturdays at Turf City. Those interested, please come
down for a look or send an email to info@singaporewombats.com.
